Grown was born around Munich, Germany, back in 2007. Today, Grown is home at the mountain campus of the MonViso Institute, in the Italian Piedmont Alps, between Turin and the French Queyras.

The Grown lab is a workshop design space at this real-world laboratory where we grow hemp to laminate skis, build knives from recycled saw blades, offer design courses, and emerge for various backcountry ski tours and mountain bike rides right from campus.

In construction is the Observatory, a social mountain observation space, hosting the Grown cafe-bar popup service on campus – a localized world café to meet and great like-minded pals after a ski/bike/climb/hiking tour, to listen to adventure narratives, exchange books and plan the next outdoor adventure.
