Grand Challenges in Engineering Design

The course Grand Challenges in Engineering Design (visit course website)  by Prof. K. Shea covers the topic of design processes through the example of skis.
The course includes theoretical lectures about the basics of ski design such as structural concepts, mechanics of skis, and ski testing as well as practical lectures with guest speakers from academia and industry.

Dr. Tobias Luthe, founder of Grown, offers in this course a lecture on systemic design: what is a whole systems approach to design on the example of skis? How can ecological, social, technical and economic aspects be integrated to design sustainable solutions?
